Dog Daycare

Wags is a locally owned dog daycare and training facility located in Rochester, New York. Our 5,000 square foot facility has 4 playrooms. All dogs play with all dogs, we do not separate or crate dogs. The dogs have access to all rooms at anytime. Each room has its own unique climbing apparatus: raised beds with slides, 3 sided cribs, toddler beds, etc. Once you become a member of Wags you are now part of our family, every dog is treated as if they were our own.  The staff is highly trained in appropriate dog interactions and canine body language to ensure a safe playful environment for your pup. We require the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella.  All dogs 8 months or older MUST be spayed or neutered. To get started on becoming part of #TeamWag , give us a call to schedule a temperament test; a test to introduce them to the other pups and see how they do.

In Home Private Lessons

In-home private lessons are for dogs that might not be able to even make it into a classroom setting where we can concentrate on certain issues that you might be having at home or out in public. We can also work on basic obedience, behavioral problems: jumping, nipping or fearful and reactive issues.

Fearful Reactive Class

Does your dog bark, lunge and over react to certain stimuli, do they cower in fear or shake with new situations or people, then the fearful reactive class is here to help. We work in a force and fear free environment using scientific methods to help them learn to cope with life’s different situations. Using control exposure do many different situations so the dog can learn to handle life.
We start off with walls in between everyone so the dogs can not see what is next to them and then start with the process of desensitization and counter conditioning with objects and other stimuli to start to replace your dog’s un-wanted behaviors with being able to pay attention to you in a calm manner by adding positive interactions so the dog can become more confident and understanding in real world situations.

To make the most of each class you will want to bring:
- Dog collar or harness (nothing that inflicts pain)
- Normal 6 foot leash (no flexi leashes)
- Treats, appropriate size for your dog
- Clicker (will be provided)

All things that will be needed will be covered in the orientation the first week which is for people only, no dogs. You will receive your clicker, handouts and other important information during the orientation
